ExpressVu is Introducing Rental Plan to Own. It starts July 10, 2011

Bell is introducing a new hardware payment option that will be available to new or existing Bell Satellite TV clients, the Rental choice plan:

·         Allows clients to make 36 fixed monthly payments for their TV hardware.

·         After month 36 and the final payment, the client has the option of keeping the equipment without ongoing monthly fees or returning the hardware to Bell.

·         With the Rental choice plan clients have the option of returning their equipment at any time with no penalty! Another way that Bell is providing flexibility to our client’s needs. All existing stackability rules, Greenfield offers, and Sweeteners will continue to be available.

·          Unlike rental, the Rental choice plan does not require our clients to pay a deposit up-front only to be reimbursed later when they receive their first bill.

o    Instead, a $30.40 activation fee will be charged on the client’s first bill when new Bell Satellite TV is ordered with Rental choice plan as the payment option.

o    Rental hardware may be fulfilled with either new or refurbished equipment.

With the Rental choice plan, clients make 36 equal payments over a period of 36 months.

New Shaw Direct Quad XKU LNBF

Shaw Direct is introducing a new LNBF type, xKu, to replace the Quad LNBF for all residential installations. This lnbf is avaliable starting on June 24th, 2011 for both 60 cm 75 cm dishes.
This LNBF looks very similar to the Quad LNBF. To ensure that the LNBF being installed is of the xKu type, locate the label on the back of the actual LNBF.
The x Ku LNBF is capable of supporting signal from the third satellite, Anik G1, scheduled to come online in the fall, 2012. The new satellite will provide space for many new channels.
From the picture above, you will notice three lnbs. From left to right: The first in the right is the existing and now discontinue Quad LNB. The middle one is the x Ku Raven LNBF used for 60cm dishes. and the one in the far right, is the new lnbf used for 75cm dishes.
In order for these lnbs to be tune properly, please refer the the following link: X KU LNBF Tuning.

It is high priority that the skew is setup properly. Otherwise, you won't get the third satellite with the new channels.
If you are an existing customer, Shaw Direct, should be able to provide youwith an upgrade with a minimum charge or next to nothing once the new channels lineup are start coming up on 2012.

Outside ShawDirect Customers

As long as Shaw Direct continues sending the same strong signal as the previous two satellites, Shaw Direct Customers in USA and Mexico, should be able to enjoy the new channels when launched in the fall 2012.

There is has been lots of existing customers wishing to own their equipment by making monthly payments. According to Bell ExpressVu, starting on Friday, June 10, 2011, you will not longer be able to lease a satellite system. Now you have a new option: Rent to own.
This is how to rent to own works.

1)Decide what receiver(s) you wish to rent to own. You cannot have more than 6 in 1 single account.

2)You need to provide your basic information to the Bell dealer such as:
a)Full Name: First name, last name and middle name.
b)Address.: Including physical and mailing with proper postal codes.
c)Phone No: include area code
d)Credit Card /Chequing Account Information.
e)Driver's License: It has to be a valid driver's license from the province you are applying.

3)You will get a credit check, which takes approximately about 10 to 15 minutes. (This promotion is OAC, on approve credit ONLY.)

Assuming you qualify, you get any type of receivers such as 4100, 6131HD and 9241HD for rent to own. ExpressVu divides the price of the entire system by 36 months. At the end of the term, you Absolutely own the equipment.

Please be aware, of two things:

1)There is credit check when you buy outright your equipment. Only when you rent it.

2)You will have guarantee while you are renting the equipment. After that period, 36 months, you have the option to pay an extra warranty fee.
